OUR STORY
Teraka Logistics (Pty) Ltd was established in 2017 in response to increased growth and demand in the South African logistics sector. Teraka, which means ‘truck’ in Sesotho, seized the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the logistics industry through economic transformation.
Since then, Teraka has more than doubled the number of loads transported to its expanding customer base. Despite its relatively small market share, the company is growing in confidence, as is its list of loyal customers, including multinational companies. Teraka prides itself on providing a quick and efficient service nationwide, ensuring service delivery remains a priority. It is on a growth trajectory as it strives towards transformation.

As a subsidiary of BexGroup, Teraka has access to financial and operational resources that enable it to support smaller transport companies. This allows for the efficient diversification of its operations and benefits other businesses.
Teraka carefully selects B-BBEE-compliant subcontractors with properly insured and maintained vehicles. These subcontractors also comply with regulations and client requirements.
OUR BUSINESS AREAS
Teraka provides fast and reliable transport services focused on, but not limited to, bulk commodities, FMCG, palletised goods, and containers.
BULK TRANSPORT
Transporting loose bulk commodities is a major part of our business operations and expertise. Loads are transported via tipper trucks (dropsides, bottom dumpers, side tippers, walking floors). We provide services to customers in the agriculture, minerals, and mining markets throughout South Africa.
FMCG & PALLETISED GOODS
FMCG is one of the biggest sectors worldwide and significantly contributes to South Africa’s GDP. Fast-moving and palletised goods are transported using Tautliners, flatbeds, or tri-axle vehicles.
CONTAINER TRANSPORT
Transporting containers to and from all South African ports is another crucial area of Teraka’s business. The company continually monitors the growth potential of this sector to expand its market share.
RISK MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
Teraka is committed to maintaining responsible business practices. The company guarantees that all goods in transit comply with the necessary requirements and are fully insured against loss or damage from the point of departure to the offloading destination.
Teraka manages risk-mitigating tools and ensures strict adherence to safety policies. Management systems are in place to assess risks and minimise potential losses resulting from non-delivery, theft, accidents, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Our advanced administration and information systems ensure consistent and efficient service through closely monitored documentation flow.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Teraka, in collaboration with BexGroup, serves, uplifts, and supports environmental awareness, childcare and education, and community development initiatives. We believe our company exists not only for the benefit of our employees and shareholders but also to have a positive impact on the rest of the world.
We support economic transformation and advocate that economic growth can be enhanced through broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE). Teraka is a proud Level 2 B-BBEE contributor.
Maria's Community Kitchen is a project initiated by one of our employees within her community of Kuils River in 2022, which has since been registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO).
Maria's Community Kitchen prepares hearty meals for the community with the goal of feeding as many children as possible.
Teraka, in collaboration with Bextrans, has donated a minibus to Genadeland NPC in Victoria West, thereby ensuring that the community center has reliable transportation.
The Stellenbosch Trail Fund (STF) is right on our doorstep, and our employees frequently find themselves enjoying the hiking, biking, and running trails that the STF works diligently to maintain and develop.
